very few, if any divers at all.

Experienced divers who have visited many destinations worldwide all agree that if
they could pick one destination to go diving, they would choose Papua New Guinea.
When
As a country that is situated a little south of the equator, the weather hardly changes
between seasons. The climate is hot, humid and rainy and the temperature is usually
around 28°C. There is not one best season for traveling in all of Papua New Guinea,
however, the driest season is between May and October, and there is less chance of
rain in most regions, compared to other months.
The best season to go diving is between May and September.
It is higly recommended to check the dates of festivals and try to coordinate your
vacation accordingly.

Kimbe Bay
A large bay located in the northwest of New Britain Island, considered one of the most
beautiful places in the world with clear blue water and spectacular green landscapes. The
bay has calm waters, almost without currents. The bay is considered to be a region with wide
biodiversity. 60% of the corals in the Indian Ocean can be found here and the waters are home
to more than 860 different species of reef fish and marine creatures. Most diving sites in the
area are within a short sailing distance and are characterized by underwater coral reefs
reaching up to the surface. Whilst diving in Kimbe Bay you can see various species of sharks
and additional peculiar little creatures that are so unique to Papua.
Walindi Dive Sites
The reef in Walindi is extraordinarily rich in wildlife and the area is abundant with
underwater cliffs located at a distance from each other, some of which are volcanic.
The area is full of many types of stone coral- more than half of the world's hardest
corals, all in one bay. This is why Kimbe Bay is considered the world's official coral
reef capital. Here you will also find a huge variety of fish and other marine creatures.
The area is classed as one of the world's richest underwater diversity sites.
Diving at the Walindi Resort
The friendly and courteous dive shop staff ensures you enjoy unique diving experiences.
The dive shop is equipped with 3 diving boats that sail to various dive sites in the area.
Here you can find no less than forty nearby easy and accessible dive sites. The selection
is huge and therefore considered one of the leading dive destinations in the world. Every
day you can do two or three dives and you can choose between dives with air or Nitrox dives.
Most dive sites are up to 45 minutes away and the experienced dive instructors would do
anything to reach the best dive sites and show the divers the variety of smallest sea
creatures and other marine wonders. Many photos taken at Kimbe Bay have won awards
at global photography competitions. The dive instructors understand the importance of
underwater photography, while emphasizing the preservation of natural resources, often
help photographers photograph the best pictures.
The resort serves as the homeport of the MV FeBrina dive boat.
Inglis Shoal
A beautiful and rich reef where, among the corals you can see schools of hundreds of
species of colorful reef fish. Particularly prominent fish in this area are triggerfish,
tuna, barracudas, trevally and more. In shallow water, you can observe beautiful schools
of red Pinjalo Lewisi fish. From time to time, hammerheads and gray reef sharks can be spotted.
Level: Suitable for divers at all levels.
Depth: 11-30 m
Susan's Reef
A special reef filled with red gorgonias and colored feather starfish between 16-22 m,
and at the south an ascending saddle that connects the reef to a much larger reef -Vanessa.
In the northern part of Susan Reef there is a steep descent of an eastern wall, and on the
other side a garden full of colorful hard corals. Here you can see thousands of reef fish
including red clown fish, colorful Sea Pens, Pygmy Seahorses, Razor fish that camouflage
among the fan corals with their noses down, fluorescent Disco Clams and more.
Level: Suitable for divers at all levels.
Depth: maximum 25 m.
Vanessa's Reef
Covered in a huge and colorful variety of soft and hard corals. The most prominent
and beautiful among them are the giant dark red fan gorgonias (some of which reach
a height of 3 m) that are the home to small marine creatures like shrimps, colorful
Hawkfish and more. Further along the reef is a drop to a sandy seabed, here the dive
boat anchors and waits for divers to finish their spectacular dive.
Level: Suitable for divers at all levels.
Depth: maximum 18 m.
Restorf Island
The reef is home to a variety of corals mainly gorgonias and black coral trees, among
them live a mass of colorful reef fish, and mostly gray reef sharks and blacktip sharks.
Then there is a sharp descent to the sandy seabed where there are many coral rocks,
among them many reef fish and small creatures such as nudibranchs and other sea slugs,
shrimps, octopus and more. You can also dive in the eel garden and discover many other
creatures and especially beautiful are the huge triggerfish.
Level: Suitable for divers at all levels and for snorkeling.
Depth: maximum 30 m.
Dives in Fathers Reefs
These reefs are located northeast of Kimbe Bay, along the northern coast of New Britain.
This is a wide fringing reef formed by the residue of an ancient volcano with very interesting
formations. Underwater arches, caves and niches that serve as hiding places for marine
creatures. A great location for reef and spectacular wall dives. The reefs often attract
predators from the open sea who hunt in the shallow reef, such as pods of dolphins,
schools of tuna, jack fish, barracuda alongside hammerhead, silvertip and gray reef sharks.
Depth: maximum 30 m.
Level: Most sites are suitable for divers at all levels and some are suitable for snorkeling.
Dives in the Rabaul Region and the South Coast
This area is considered a paradise for crater enthusiasts. Endless beaches of white sand,
uninhabited tropical islands all located along the southern coast of New Britain with
rainforests that reach the beaches and coastline. Drift dives can be made along the channels
between the islands and there is a high probability of exciting encounters with large and small
marine creatures. The area, which includes several volcanoes, most of which are dormant, was
formed over a long process, thousands of years ago as a result of violent volcanic activity. The
last eruption of two volcanoes occurred in 1994. During World War II the city was attacked by
the Japanese and became their main base, and today the area boasts spectacular diving where
sunken airplane and shipwrecks lay among the colorful reefs.
Depth: maximum 30 m.
Level: Suitable for divers at all levels, but most shipwrecks lay at under 20 meters.
Dive in the Witu Islands
The four Witu Islands are located northwest of Kimbe Bay and are considered remote and
isolated. The islands are underwater volcanoes that lay deep under the sea. The reefs and the
lagoons provide an amazing diving and snorkeling experience and a variety of sites not to miss.
Depth: maximum 30 m.
Level: Most sites are suitable for divers at all levels and some are suitable for snorkeling.

יש להתייצב בשדה התעופה לפחות 3 שעות לפני טיסה בינלאומית.
שדה התעופה בפורט מורסבי מאד בסיסי ומבולגן ולכן יש להתעזר בסבלנות ולקבל מאיתנו הדרכה ואת מפת השדה.
יש להתאים את מספר התיקים ומשקלם למגבלות חברת התעופה על מנת להימנע מחיובי עודף משקל.

תנאי הים נוחים לאורך השנה ובאופן יחסי יציבים אך מדובר על איים במרכז האוקיינוס וייתכנו
תקופות של ים גבוה ותיתכן השפעה על שינויים באזורי ואתרי צלילה שונים על פי החלטת הקפטן.
באופן עקרוני ישנם מפרצים מוגנים ולגונות רגועות כך השפעת תנאי הים היא מוגבלת.
ישנם זרמים חזקים בחלק מהאתרים ובהחלט מומלץ להצטרף לטיול כצולל בעל ניסיון.
הראות טובה מאוד ונעה בין 20-30 מטרים.

ככלל כדאי לצלול כפי שרגילים. במידה ויש לכם נעלי צלילה וסנפיר תואם אז התשובה

מהחוף או חציית ריפים עתירי קיפודי ים ועל כן ניתן להשתמש בסנפיר נעל שאינו
